Ken Hinman

Ken Hinman, President, The National Coalition for Maine Conservation, has been at the center of the fisheries conservation movement over 40 years.  He is head of Wild Oceans, an independent non-profit organization. “I am Wild Oceans” he said at the founding in 1973.  He notes “it’s indeed a fish-eat-fish world” and has proceeded for decades with his passion to keep the oceans wild to achieve a vibrant future for fishing with ecosystem-based managements for fisheries. 

Widely acclaimed for his plan at the center of the fisheries conservation movement with dedication to our coastal ecosystems, Hinman has written extensively on conservation policy and science, served as a conservation editor, and published widely while uniting fishermen and environmentalists for the preservation of our oceans and fishing opportunities to assure a healthy future.
