The Islesboro Forum welcomes you to its Summer 2026 season. We are pleased to offer eight outstanding programs on the six consecutive Sunday evenings beginning on July 12th and continuing through August 30th 2026. The one-hour programs start at 5:30 pm at the Islesboro Community Center. We invite all islanders to attend and participate interactively in the Question and Answer portion of the program that follows the speaker’s presentation.

August 9 – Islesboro Affordable Housing panel: “Affordable Housing for Islesboro: Challenges and Strategies”

August 16 – David Watts, Davis Institute for AI, Colby College: “Leading the AI Renaissance Through the Liberal Arts”

August 23 – Michael Roth, President Wesleyan University: “From Neutrality to Democracy: How Higher Ed Can Defend Democracy”

August 30 – Ben Weiss, MIT Earth & Planetary Sciences: “Understanding the Origin of Metal Worlds with the NASA Psyche Mission”

 

The Islesboro Forum’s expenses, which include modest expenditures for technical production, website maintenance, room rental at the Islesboro Community Center, publicity and ferry or water taxi travel by our speakers, are covered through the generosity of donors like yourselves who value the Forum’s contribution to island life.
