DESCRIPTION:Dr. Amanda Stent is inaugural director of the Davis Institute for Artificial Intelligence at Colby College. She previously held positions at Bloomberg\, Yahoo\, AT&T Labs – Research and Stony Brook University.  She has a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Rochester. Dr. Stent has authored or co-authored over 100 papers on natural language processing and is co-inventor on over 35 patents. She is a fellow of the Association for Computational Linguistics and a senior member of the Association for Computing Machinery\, and is board co-chair of the Computing Research Association Committee on Widening Participation in Computing Research.
